A
Day Hike with Rosebud
Llamas Utah provides you with a
chance to enjoy the quiet beauty and clear air of Utah's beautiful,
high desert in the very good company of llamas. They'll have no trouble
carrying the tasty, nutritious picnic lunch that we will serve you on
the trail. You may want to enjoy casual conversation or walk quietly,
take photos, watch birds, and so on. Or we can share information as we
go--about wildlife, flora, land uses, some of the area's history and
other local lore, and llamas. Detailed
information on day hikes.
Day hikes can be
taken in two areas:

Red
Creek Narrows near Rosebud Llamas Utah. These hikes begin at our ranch on the Red Creek Road in
Fruitland, Duchesne County. We are located just under 100 miles
southeast of Salt Lake City, less than a 2 hour drive from there, as
well as from Ogden, Provo, Price, and Vernal. Our day hike route
follows a rarely used jeep trail that begins directly across from the
ranch and wanders among Pinyon Pines, Junipers, and Douglas Firs on
Currant Creek Mountain. This is an easy hike suitable for children and
adults. Wildlife like deer, elk, and moose are sometimes seen on winter
hikes.

Ashley
National Forest, South Unit. A
number of llama day hike routes are available in the portion of the
Ashley NF located south of Highway 40, just "around the corner" from
Rosebud Llamas Utah. All areas in the South Unit are at higher
elevation than the Red Creek Narrows, so you can expect to see a
variety of types of vegetation including groves of aspens, many species
of conifers, and wildflowers galore. Other sights may include birds,
deer, elk, and perhaps even a bear.
The trailheads for these hikes are from one to two hours beyond our
ranch and vary in degree of difficulty, so there is a llama day hike in
the Ashley South Unit for just about everyone.
